You are guys sure know how to make a fella feel loved! Thank youuuuuuuu all so much! It's been a swell birthday and I've never been happier to be here and on DA (which I've been doing for almost 9 years!) DA may be run by silly people and have some silly policies (sooo silly), but you can't beat friends like you guys!
By the way, I'm still still still planning to do "Dreadful Tales", the magazine group which I wrote about here:
New Group! "Dreadful Tales: The Journal of Lurid Adventure", and I know I said I'd get back to it in July, but I feel like it took this long to catch my breath and get my head on straight again. Plus I feel more encouraged after having cranked out a story (
It's Here! :icondreadful-tales:
Penny Dreadfuls, Dime Novels, Pulp Magazines: the 10c mass produced serial fiction of a century ago. From this “low culture” arose characters and trends and careers that have endured into our day. This lurid, exploitative literary format included highly energetic writing and arresting illustration. Let's bring it back!
In order to participate in, join, or even understand this group, you have to have a sense of the flavor we're aiming at here. We're all going back in time to the mid 19th to early 20th centuries to celebrate the throwaway pop literature of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. This is by no means confined to England, America and friends are included. We're talking about PULP: mass produced magazines, newspapers, leaflets, that brought thrilling stories to the public, chapter by cliff-hanging chapter! They were kn

Despite the wizard's warning,
Surely shall he be fated to find

HUGE DEADLINE - NEWS - JOURNAL - FEATURES
:dummy: Thing number one is my group which is still here, despite the annoying fact that groups look different now. We got a HUGE deadline soon So please please bring your pulpy best writings and arts for the 50th issue. There have been some stressy work weeks in recent times, and my car, Akpo, needed some attention, so I took a 4 day weekend in hopes of getting the car fixed (cheaply) and getting some writing in. Weekend is coming to a close and I dropped $427 (with $900 of suggested repairs on the back burner), I managed to hurt my foot walking to pick up the car (which meant I didn't get out to the gym after), and the writing wasn't quite what I'd hoped. Still, another series is complete and closing chapters will be coming in the next few weeks. :dummy: Please dole out some faves and comments and watches to the talent folk who are featured here! Who knows? You might end up featured sometime! We are getting into the nitty gritty

We got a DEADLINE - Snow - Features - Hello!
Okay! I know it's been way too long! I am just 6 weeks into my promotion and it is plenty of work, believe me! Winter went and got fairly mild, but then, on Thurday, we got a slurpee of heavy wet snow dumped on us in the night and it made roads into slush... which was all not that bad... until I got to work and the building got stuck on partial power. There are generators for the building but whoever was operating those might have had no idea what they were doing, since the power kept flickering out again like every 2 minutes, so we did not get a ton of work done. :eager: You know perfectly well that we got a deadline coming up for so submit plz: :la: We need them arts and stories to get this issue to be awesome! Featured here are talented human artists who deserve some fave-love and commenties, cuz they sink time and talent into the things they do. You guys should only fave human artists! Please and thank you
