Description

My homage to the great illustrator of a hundred years ago, Franklin Booth. Bernie Wrightson said
that Franklin Booth is better than anyone who ever picked up a pen, and I'm right on board with
that sentiment (cuz look: www.greynotgrey.com/blog/wp-co… ) . As a young man in Indiana, Booth meticulously copied images in magazines in pen,
believing that they were pen drawrings when in fact they were woodcut engravings (psst, it's like
really hard to re-create that effect in pen!). Having attained such mad-crazy skill, Booth found
work illustrating books and advertisement, magazines, posters, etc. (looky: 4.bp.blogspot.com/-x92PMIv44q4… )
His stuff is kinda like Gustov Dore's if Dore had hand-drawn his stuff and had an electrifying sense
of composition! Booth did color works as well, which are equally impressive (check it: 3.bp.blogspot.com/-oE8Fg3QE_U0… . His pen drawings look
like that high grade engraving art you find on money. Holy crap, he's so good!
